VIM draws from the Latin vis, meaning strength or force. MODA is the Italian word for fashion, ultimately rooted in the Latin modus, meaning manner or way. Together, VIM MODA represents the energy of personal style—a way of moving through the world with confidence and individuality.

Founded and run by former college teammates from Washington, D.C., Chicago, Houston, and Philadelphia whose paths crossed in New York City. Each of us brought a perspective shaped by home. Basketball brought us together, while the streets of New York strengthened our friendship and shaped our taste in clothing.

Surrounded by the city’s mix of cultures and personal styles, we saw how clothing could express where someone came from, what inspired them, and who they were becoming. Our tastes evolved together while remaining distinctly our own. That experience became the foundation of VIM MODA, the brand we founded and continue to run together.

As our playing careers took us to Europe, the cultures, everyday rhythms, and approaches to style we encountered broadened our understanding of fashion and the world. Our clothing brings those influences together: our hometown roots, our shared experience in New York, and the perspectives we continue to discover abroad.
